The Amici dei Musei di Bra Association, in collaboration with the Craveri Civic Museum of Natural History, is organizing a short series of conferences entitled Artificial satellites: a look from and towards the sky curated by Edoardo Marelli.
Saturday 20 May: Space exploration, history and curiosities will offer an excursus ranging from the first attempts to launch satellites into space to the latest sophisticated satellite missions to reveal the mysteries of the universe. All seasoned with anecdotes and "behind the scenes" curiosities.
Saturday 27 May: Satellites in everyday life will describe the impact that satellites have in our daily life and in the study of the great problems of our planet.
The conferences will take place at 4.00 pm at the BPER Auditorium in via Principe di Piemonte (entrance from via Sarti) with free admission.
Edoardo Marelli, electronic engineer specialized in the satellite sector, worked for over thirty years at the European Space Agency (ESA) in the technological center of Noordwijk (Netherlands).
