The annual appointment with the “Night of Museums” is back on Saturday 17 May 2025. This is an initiative launched at a European level that aims to make the richness of our cultural heritage known to a wider audience, which on this occasion can be admired in a truly special atmosphere. Furthermore, the aim is to attract new visitors, especially young people, by offering them an evening that is ‘different’ from the ordinary.
For the occasion, all the structures that are part of the Bra museum circuit - the Museum of Archaeology, History and Art of Palazzo Traversa, the Craveri Museum of Natural History, the Toy Museum and the multimedia museum of the "Casa dei Braesi" housed inside the Zizzola - will be exceptionally open with free admission from 9 pm to midnight. The same opening is also planned for Palazzo Mathis, inside which it is possible to admire the personal exhibition of the Bra artist Lidia Botto "Flowers: emotions in colors" until May 25th. Taking advantage of the fact that the date falls within the Science Weeks, the Craveri Museum is organizing an astronomical evening starting at 8 pm curated by Antonino Sparacino with the use of the new telescope supplied to the structure. For the occasion, the scale model of the solar system will be set up in the museum garden. In case of bad weather, the event will be held indoors with virtual astronomical observation. Free admission.
At Palazzo Traversa, instead, we will try to bring creativity to light through touch. The museum offers a workshop open to everyone, from beginners to experts (from 16 years old and up), which will allow you to explore the art of ceramics in a non-traditional way, modeling clay without the use of sight. The workshop, free of charge, will be held from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Limited places, reservations required by writing to traversa@comune.bra.cn.it.
At 9 pm and 10 pm, the Toy Museum will offer a guided tour with a workshop dedicated to the construction of an original toy that was very fashionable between the 19th and 20th centuries: the acrobat. At 11 pm, instead, there will be a guided tour without a workshop. To participate, reservations are required by calling 0172-430185 from Monday to Friday or by writing to promozione@comune.bra.cn.it (on Saturdays and Sundays, call 349-4565848).
Finally, the “Casa dei Braidesi”, located inside the most representative building of the city, will remain open continuously from 10 am to midnight, also offering the possibility of admiring a preview of the exhibition by Franco Gotta entitled “La mia Zizzola”. The official inauguration of the personal exhibition is in fact scheduled for the following day, Sunday 18 May, at 4 pm.
