On the occasion of Planet Earth Week, scheduled from 1st to 8th October, the "Craveri" Civic Museum of Natural History, in collaboration with the Ecomuseo delle Rocche del Roero, offers a nature excursion along the "Rocca del Serro" by Montaldo Roero. The appointment is set for Sunday 1 October 2023. The geologist Marco Terenzi and the director of the Craveri museum Rino Brancato will lead the group.
"The purpose of this excursion", explain the organizers, "is to search the territory for evidence of the past that allows us to reconstruct its fascinating geological and naturalistic history. During the walk we will go to the edge of the rocks to discover their origin and we will search among the stratifications for fossil traces of organisms that sedimented in an ancient seabed dating back to the Pliocene, around 3 million years ago."
