SUMMER AT PALAZZO TRAVERSA 2025

1. June 18-19. Portraits - redone
Inspired by the works of Picasso, we will create a portrait and a self-portrait by mixing our image with that of some historical figures from our collections.

2. June 25-26. Air, water, earth and fire
A multi-sensory workshop, in which, alternating moments of listening to sounds with moments of graphic activity, a small illustrated book on the four natural elements will be created.

3. July 2-3. The family crest
Let's learn the basics of heraldry and invent the crest that represents us, to then create it in relief with clay.

4. July 9-10. A paper garden
Starting from reading the book “Il giardino di Matisse”, we will discover this artist’s passion for paper and especially for cut-outs; then we will create a large paper garden.

5. July 16-17. What could your alter ego be like?
Just as Spider Man is Peter Parker’s alter ego, we too, inspired by the works of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, will try to create our own alter ego, to have fun discovering how it would be different from us.

6. July 23-24. Herbs and strange weeds
Inspired by ancient herbals, participants will create their own small artistically reworked herbarium. The following day, instead, we will go to discover strange futurist trees, to create a “garden of sharp, serrated and prickly plants”, which have nothing natural.

Workshops promoted by the APRI association in collaboration with Palazzo Traversa (contribution Fondazione CRC - "Impegnati per i diritti" 2024 call)
time: Tuesday 9:00 - 12:00

1. June 17. Who is Giorgetto?
Starting from the reading of the tactile book Giorgetto, the animal that changes appearance, participants will be guided in learning the main characteristics that a tactile book must have. Later, after experimenting with various materials, they will create a tactile board, which will be inspired by an episode of Giorgetto's story.

2. June 24. Seeing with your fingers
Participants will be introduced to the story of Louis Braille and the writing he invented. They will then create a simple drawing and sign it using the Braille alphabet. Thanks to the use of the "Minolta oven", they will witness the transformation of their works, which will "swell" to be "seen" with the fingers and not just with the eyes!

3. July 1. Beyond touch
We will carry out a series of activities aimed at rediscovering the importance of all the senses, in particular smell and hearing, which are very often fundamental to bring back a memory or an emotion. After having trained our senses, we will experiment with the graphic transposition of what we have "felt".
