THE MUSEUM OF PALAZZO TRAVERSA IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CONSULTA FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES PROPOSES A PUBLIC ART PROJECT OPEN TO ALL CITIZENS
The data relating to the increase in violence and femicides during the pandemic are disconcerting and, in recent months, the dramatic situation of women in Afghanistan has been added. Starting from some reflections on art as an instrument of denunciation, the Civic Museum of Palazzo Traversa, in collaboration with the Council for Equal Opportunities, proposes an awareness project on the theme of violence and in particular on violence against women. In order for the message to be spread to reach the entire citizenry, it was decided to use a "common graphic design" - the reworking of female portraits - which highlights its repetitiveness. The initiative is open to all citizens: together it is possible to counteract the silence that society still too often maintains in the face of the violation of fundamental rights, such as the right to the integrity of the person.
METHOD OF PARTICIPATION
1) PORTRAIT: print in black and white, A4 format, a portrait photo of you or a photo of a woman you know or admire.
2) FRAME: glue the photo on a red card 33x48 cm. Alternatively you can use a sheet of the F4 33x48 cm sketchbook and color it / paint it red
3) PROCEDURE: rework the portrait you have chosen in a personal way through artistic materials or computer graphics. You can also add a phrase or a word that expresses a message of denunciation and solidarity. Remember to insert the anti-violence and stalking number 1522 on the work
