Now it's possible to explore the streets of Pollenzo and discover the beauty of this Bra town, carrying with you a comprehensive and easily accessible tour guide. This is all thanks to the new "Pollenzo web app," a digital application accessible via browser that illustrates the area's main historical and archaeological points of interest. This allows smartphone users to independently organize a guided tour to retrace the footsteps of ancient Roman Pollentia, or follow a route linked to medieval or 19th-century relics.
Visitors simply need to activate the app via the link on the homepage of museidibra.it, enable geolocation on their smartphone to check their position on the map in real time (strictly free), and enjoy the beauty of Pollenzo using dedicated information sheets accompanied by images, detailed directions, and audio and video in sign language for the hearing impaired. These tools also allow the app to be used by people with disabilities.
This is the result of a project that is part of the broader initiative "Savoy Residences, a Land for Kings," promoted to promote the Savoy residences of Piedmont, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Tourism and the collaboration between the eight Piedmontese municipalities that preserve these wonders—Agliè, Bra, Govone, Moncalieri, Racconigi, Rivoli, Venaria Reale, and the leading city, Turin—the project aims to make the Residences and their surroundings increasingly accessible and attractive.
The project's development plans, in the near future, include the development of a similar application for the entire city of Bra and, subsequently, for parts of the Roero area.
The app, developed with the technical collaboration of Ascom, can be viewed through the link published on the homepage of the website www.museidibra.it by clicking on "Guide to Ancient Pollenzo."
